What is RingRoast?
RingRoast is a user-controlled soundboard intended for lawful entertainment, including optional use during unwanted or nuisance calls. It does not identify scammers, block calls or guarantee any particular result.
Will the other caller hear the sound?
On supported iPhones with Direct Call Audio enabled, RingRoast can add selected sounds directly to supported calls. Availability may depend on the device, iOS version, settings, calling app, call type and audio route. On older or unsupported devices, use Acoustic Speaker Mode.
How do I enable Direct Call Audio?
On a supported iPhone, open Settings → Accessibility → Audio & Visual → Add Audio in Calls. Enable “Allow Apps to Add Audio to Calls”, return to RingRoast and approve the requested permission.
What is Acoustic Speaker Mode?
Place the call on speakerphone, move the device away from your head, start at a low system volume and play the sound through the phone speaker. The other telephone microphone may pick it up. Noise suppression and echo cancellation may alter or block the sound.
Does RingRoast work on older iPhones?
Yes, the app can still play sounds locally. If Direct Call Audio is unavailable, use Acoustic Speaker Mode. Exact compatibility depends on the minimum iOS version required by the released app.
Is there an Android version?
An Android version is planned but is not available yet. Public Android telephony restrictions differ from iOS, so the initial Android edition may rely on Acoustic Speaker Mode.
Does RingRoast record calls?
No. RingRoast is not designed to record, store, transcribe, analyse or upload telephone conversations.
Why does the sound stop when I leave the app?
RingRoast intentionally stops active playback when the app enters the background. This reduces accidental playback and makes the app’s behaviour more predictable.
Why can a sound be quieter or different during a call?
Telephone networks and calling apps often use noise suppression, echo cancellation, automatic gain control and audio compression. These systems can change, reduce or block certain sounds.
How should I use loud or high-pitched sounds safely?
Start at a low system volume. Keep the device, speaker and earpiece away from all ears. Do not use headphones, earbuds or hearing devices for loud, sudden or high-pitched effects. Stop immediately if anyone experiences pain, ringing, dizziness or discomfort.
Does RingRoast contain ads or a subscription?
The planned release is a one-time purchase with no advertising and no subscription. Store pricing and availability will be confirmed at launch.
